    The Screenwriter's (and TV Writer's and Playwright's) Word Processor/Formatter

Page 2 Stage does everything every other screenplay formatter does...but it costs less -- MUCH less. And does more -- MUCH more!

Even though Page 2 Stage does everything that expensive screenplay formatters do, it only costs $74. Page 2 Stage costs only $74 because it was designed with the specific intent of gathering all the features of the other programs and condensing them into a sleak, easy-to-use, fast-running, inexpensive-to-build program:

Page 2 Stage is screenwriting software designed expressly for people writing screenplays, scripts, and plays. It provides numerous features needed by screenwriters that you will never finegraphic of one-touch formatting in standard word processors. Put simply, written from the ground up it is the fastest and most modern screenwriting word processor available on the market today. Page 2 Stage operates exactly as you expect a Windows program to.

    Working with you
Page 2 Stage is the one screenwriting word processor that works the same way you think. You think in terms of scenes - why use a word processor that thinks only in terms of pages? The movie is a single continuous flow - why use a word processor that thinks only in terms of pages? Page 2 Stage is the one word processor that can work in scenes, work as a continuous flow, or work in pages

Only Page 2 Stage has a true outline view with full editing capability. Only Page 2 Stage offers reports and graphs that provide you feedback on your script. It can show you weak points in your script. Only Page 2 Stage allows full editing in index card view. Only Page 2 Stage reformats your script as you type so you always see your script as it will print.

    Other Languages
Page 2 Stage properly handles all European and Far Eastern alphabets, including Chinese, Japanese, & Korean. Page 2 Stage is also available in 30 languages from Arabic to Turkish, including Spanish, German, French, Italian, Dutch, and more as well as American and British English. This language support includes a translation of the program, and, in most cases, a local dictionary. Some languages also have a translation of the online help. (Click here for list of languages and related information.)

    GENERAL FEATURES:
      (See also our extensive screenshots)

    • Unobtrusive copy protection - Install on as many computers as you wish, no disk required when you run. (You must enter a password given to you the first time you run on a new install.)
    • Four views that let you see your script the same way you think about your script.
      • Index Card view that displays the scenes as a series of index cards. Write and shuffle your scenes as you build up the basic structure of the script.
      • Outline view that displays the script as a continuous whole. Flesh out your script as you fill in the structure of the script, seeing how the entire script flows.
      • Normal view that displays the script in it's final form with page breaks. Finish up the script seeing how it will break on the page.
      • Page view that displays the script on a page with full margins, hole punches, etc. See exactly how the script will appear when printed.
    • Full editing capability in all for views. The only view-specific commands are certain kinds of drag & drop that only make sense in that mode.
    • Can open several views (windows) of the same script and edit is each. Edits in one window show in the other windows.
    • Seven reports to help you improve your writing. The graphs provide never before delivered feedback on the flow of your script.
      • Scene report to give you a quick listing of your scene order and length.
      • Character report to give you a listing of the scenes and dialogue (and optionally relevant action) for a specific character.
      • Note report to give you a concise listing of all notes in the script.
      • Scene details report to give you a detailed summary of each scene including the percentage of the scene spent on dialogue, action, etc. This report also provides a summary for the script as a whole.
      • Scene graph which gives you a one page picture of the length of each scene, how dialogue heavy each scene is, and how the scenes vary from INT to EXT. This gives you a visual picture of the flow of your script.
      • Character graph which gives you the same graph as scene graph but also displays the dialogue of a specific character to see how they fit into the script as a whole. This gives you a visual picture of how a character fits in the script.
      • Concordance which shows you what words each character uses. This shows how the character talks (are they aggressive, passive, etc.). It also is a good measure showing if each character talks differently - a critical requirement for a well-written script.
    • All changes in the script cause immediate reformatting in the background while you continue editing the script. So the script is always correctly formatted yet you never have to wait. This is done using the multi-threaded capability in Windows.
    • Complete adherence to the Windows user interface guidelines. If a feature is in Word and makes sense for screenwriting, it is probably in Page 2 Stage and probably works identically.
    • All the standard features found in all screenwriting editors.
      • Smart tab to set paragraph style.
      • Correct handling of page breaks, dialogue continued, etc.
      • Auto-complete lists for characters, scenes, etc.
      • Dual Column mode (aligned and non-aligned).
    • When you scroll, the script scrolls and redisplays as you drag the scroll bar. So you can see exactly where to drag the scroll bar to.
    • Advanced auto-cheat. You tell the program how many pages you want the script to be, then Page 2 Stage cheats the script to match the desired length.
    • True undo. If you press undo three times, it undoes your last three commands, regardless of the command. Undo a global replace. Undo a script style applied to the entire script. Undo anything (except spelling corrections).
    • Can format each paragraph any way you desire. You do not have to make every paragraph one of the 9 standard script paragraph types.
    • Set zoom from 50% to 200%. Works the same at any zoom level.
    • Open multiple windows to the same script. Scroll each window to a different location in the script. Each window may be a different view mode. Changes made in one window are shown in the other windows at the same time.
    • Can use fonts that are not fixed width. Can use fonts that are not 12 point. Can have different fonts and sizes in each paragraph. (You probably shouldn't do this for a script -- but you can.)
    • An advanced spelling dictionary and thesaurus. Auto-correct as you type, auto-fixes DOuble CApitals, etc.
    • Complete and exhaustive online help with context sensitive help down to the level of each menu command.
    • Read in RTF files (scripts from other programs) with an intelligent agent that can correctly determine the type of each paragraph with over 99% accuracy.
    • Automatically saves a backup of the script you are editing. Automatically periodically saves the script you are working on in case of power failure.
    • Saves files when Windows says it is running out of power (laptops and systems with a UPS).
    • Usable out of the box. But if you want to change something, it is almost infinitely configurable.
    • E-mail scripts, access Page 2 Stage web sites, and request technical support all from within the program. (Uses your web browser and/or e-mail program.)
    • Full range of inserted fields in the header and title page.
    • Available in several languages in addition to English.
    • Handles European and DBCS (Japanese, Chinese, Korean) alphabets in all languages.

UNIQUE FEATURES: - WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT:

Here's what distinguishes us from EVERY other software program (see also comparison review articles)

    1. True outline view with full editing .

    2. Graph reports & concordance (these will show problems in your script).

    3. Full editing in index card view (Script Thing has limits and the others don't offer this).

    4. Background reformat so the script is always formatted (the others all play catch-up at times).

    5. No-pain copy protection.

    6. Easier cheat (just tell it how many pages).

    7. Full formatting control of every paragraph.

    8. It's a very tight program; It is faster than any of the others. It does a lot of things a little cleaner or simpler. It religiously follows the Windows U.I. guidelines.

    9. It handles European and Asian languages (not important unless you are working there - and then critical).

    10. It is translated into 30 languages: Arabic - Turkish.

In addition, Page 2 Stage is also about 1/3 the price of the other programs - for the same features plus all those mentioned here.
