Main Screen
<BACK NEXT>

(1) At top left, the "About World/Story Creation" button, for re-opening the Story Design Instruction Window.

(2) At bottom right, the "Next Step" button, for proceeding to the subsequent Component/Step.

(3) At the middle on the right side, the Word Processor Access Box allows you to access your favorite word-processing program, for writing the details of your story's Components and (in Stage 5) for writing the individual structure steps of your story.

(4) At top right, the Tutor Text Box containing detailed discussions of each World Creation Component and Story Creation Step. When the Story Design Main Window is first opened, this box contains discussion of World Creation Component #1 ("Extraordinary World"). After the "Next Step" button is clicked, the next component's discussion appears in that text box, and so on through each Component (of Stage 4) and then through each Story Creation Step (of Stage 5). (And when finished, clicking the "Next Step" at the final Story Creation Step (#12) will take you to the last stage, Compiling your project file.)

(5) Along the left side, the Steps Index Box, which, when an item in it is clicked, automatically opens up both the Tutor Text Box describing that item as well as the Word Processor Access Box, which gives you access to your word processor in which you write for that Component/Step.

(6) At bottom right, a "Components-Needed" text box (which appears only during Stage 5) containing a listing of the particular Components needed to complete the particular Story Creation Step.

And there are always numerous menus and icons available at the top of every screen of StoryCraft designed to provide access to extremely useful procedures. These are dealt with in greater detail by clicking "Procedures." But first, let's click "Next" to look at a sample session with StoryCraft.
